In the natural closet in the fall is the transition from summer into winter. A time when the nights become noticeable earlier. A time that you will find a light jacket, and a little warmer clothing for chilly days. It is a time when we can see the evidence of our work, and a time to see where we need to go. It is a colorful time of year. Leaves are falling off. That is the way of protecting the trees for when the winter months come. It’s a season where the colorful trees are the transition of summer into fall, having both the abundance, and the limitation of our everyday lives. Many changes occur during the fall months.
In the closet of prayer in the fall, there is a cutting away, and pruning to get of the of man (old sinful nature) and put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness, and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24. We are loosed from strongholds-the things that have a tight grip on us, holding us back, and preventing us from fulfilling the purpose the Lord has for us. It is a time to rid ourselves of the weights that are hindering our progress with the Lord. It’s a time of overcoming obstacles, stresses, distresses, and complexities that have us bogged down in order to restore, protect, and deliver us from the hand of the Enemy. We then can be prepared to go through the gloomy days of our lives where the days look dark, and suffering takes place to be able to weather the storm in the winter.
It’s a time when God is doing something in our lives, even when we don’t see it. It’s the gap between today, and tomorrow. It’s a time God is preparing us for the last season in our lives-the season of old age, which is not the end of life but full of the harvest of good things.
When we want to overcome obstacles, and rid ourselves of unwanted habits, we need to increase our prayer life, and add fasting with the prayers. When I decided I wanted the Lord to do something special in my life during any season, I decided to stay longer in the closet of prayer. I would go to church at St. Mark Church of God in Christ on Friday nights, and pray for four hours, from 8:00pm till 12:00am
In Every Season of our lives Let us Continue in Prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. Colossians 4:2
